The rain keeps falling, but I’m safe. I’m beneath the covers, holding onto you just below the surface in a graze of hot air we share, and we float as if engulfed in a cloud, steamy-eyed listening to the sounds of our hearts beating the rain.
(I can’t help but escape into you on days like these when I’m sullen, a wee forlorn, I’ll never be able to touch you again. And yet, my spirit knows that in my mind you’ll never be gone. A feeling of you is imprinted upon my soul to help me soar forevermore.)
